Hong Kong Recap - Transformers Kre-O

Over the next week (or two) there will be a series of blog entries regarding my finds (or lack of finds) from my recent trip to Hong Kong.

On the wish list (if I could find then) were some of the last waves of Kre-O that were sold over in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia, but never made it to the easier to access USA online stores and New Zealand retail.

Walking in a toy (and everything else) store that I would have never known about until I was taken to the store since the website was all in Chinese, I was amazed to see boxes of Kre-O Micro Changer Blind Packs sitting at the counter and on clearance as well. Collection 2 from 2014 was the first set that had no identifying numbers on the bags so I was unable to figure out what was in the bags from those on the counter - so with help I able to secure a full sealed box of 24 figures, which in theory should give me two complete sets.

Searching through one of the smaller cube stores in 'toy street', I was able to find one of the other Kre-O items I was looking for: Kre-O Battle Changers, sets that actually converted from robot to vehicle mode without the need to disasemble the figure like the earlier larger sets and the micro changers, As soon as I expressed my interest in the Battle Changers, I was told by the local Transformers collector I was checking out the stores with that she actually had a full set of them for sale. As a result, I suspended my search and agreed to purchase the 2 VS sets and the 5 single sets I required from this collector.

With Kre-O well and truly dead, I do not expect to ever purchase any more sets.
