Transformers Catch-Up
For whatever reason, I have been slightly lazy in updating the blog when I received Transformers in March and April, and so as a result that means a catch-up blog post is required as the last few months have seen a number of new arrivals.
March and April saw the arrival of three new Masterpiece Transformers to the line up, a general release Shockwave in March, a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive Ramjet in March and a general release Ratchet in April. The arrival of two more Decepticons in the MP line is always welcome, considering the number of Autobots that have been released. However two issues stand out; Shockwave needs to be a darker purple and Ramjet being an exclusive is harder and more expensive to acquire than it should be.
The majority of the arrivals were from the Transformers Adventures line, several new Deluxe Decepticons from the first season along with several Micron and Micron Deployers. The Microns were a "just because" purchase, while the Deployers were added to the purchase because they were Decepticons.
After being released in the West in 2014, the delayed Japanese version of Skids with its (nicer) dark blue paint scheme and random pink highlights was finally released. Due to the extended time between the releases, this was an toy I expected Japan not to release (or release as a different character) so I am glad to finally have in hand.
I was surprised to hear that the fan built Victorion Combiner War figure had an online release in New Zealand, so when I got notification of a sale from the online store in question, I did not hesitate to order.
Finally, another Q-Transformer arrived in the form a Ratchet, who comes several months after the release of Ironhide.
