2016 Maisto

Returning to my regular schedule of checking out what was in the local department and toy stores at lunch time, I was surprised to see that Toyworld had actually stocked something new I was into - 2016 Maisto (1/64 scale).

In 2016 Maisto has gone through a rebranding of its products and has spilt the All Stars/Custom Shop line into three categories: Authority, Muscle and Exotics, with most of my wish list being centred on the Authority and Exotics categories, along with the new assortment called Tow n Go.

Toyworld got in the Muscle series, which only had one car I "had" to get which was purchased. Since the owner of Toyworld is rather receptive to talking to the distributors, I went back in several days later with printouts from the online catalogue to see if they could get in the rest of my wish list. The reply from the distributor was mixed - Muscle cars sell in New Zealand which is why they were brought into the country, the rest however do not but we can see if Maisto USA can send the rest of the collectors wish list. However we have no plans to bring in Tow n Go.

Hopefully the distributor can bring in the cars from the exotic and authority series I have asked for, though it seems weird that a distributor would ignore cars because they do not sell well - how do they know when it is a new line!?!?
