Hot Wheels Heritage

In July, New Zealand received the first wave of the new "premium" Hot Wheels line, Hot Wheels Heritage. Made up of 6 waves or mix, each mix alternated between releases with Real Rider tyres and those with Red Lines. It didn't take long before more mixes started to be released in the USA and New Zealand retail started to lag behind ... thankfully, a fellow collector from New Zealand was importing the cases and I was able to get the few from each released mix that I was after.

Arriving in October were the first cars ordered from the collector - wave two of the Real Riders segment. This mix featured a brand new casting that I just had to get (the Supervan) along with a few other very nice releases.

For my next order, arriving towards the end of November, I backtracked and picked up a few releases of the first mix of red line cars, as well as the just released third wave of Real Rider cars. I did also debate getting a few of the second mix of red line cars but the seller wasn't able to supply any more of the "in demand" Nissan Skyline.

My only issue with the entire series is that for a premium line, only a few have any front tampos and none have rear tampos, which for the price point is very annoying especially considering for about $1 more in the United States or $3 more here in New Zealand, a fully detailed Greenlight model can be had. However .. compared to Greenlight, the range of cars is significantly more expansive and I certainly have added more to the collection than I had otherwise anticipated.

Roll on the final red line mix, sometime in 2016!
